Moisture
Moisture-resistant plasterboard is a type of plasterboard that is specifically designed to protect against moisture and water damage. It is also known as moisture-proof plasterboard or waterproof plasterboard. Moisture-resistant plasterboard, like standard plasterboard, is made of gypsum but is treated with a moisture-resistant coating or additives to make it more water resistant.
Moisture-resistant plasterboard is commonly used in building construction where moisture and water damage are a concern, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and other wet areas. It is typically installed in the same manner as standard plasterboard in walls and ceilings. To provide maximum protection against moisture and water damage, moisture-resistant plasterboard is frequently used in conjunction with other moisture-protection materials such as waterproofing membranes and sealants.
