Fire

Fire-resistant plasterboard, also known as fire-rated plasterboard or fireproof plasterboard, is a type of plasterboard that is specifically designed to provide fire resistance. Fire-resistant plasterboard, like standard plasterboard, is made of gypsum, but it is reinforced with additional materials, such as glass fibres, to increase its fire resistance.

Fire-resistant plasterboard is commonly used in the construction of buildings where fire safety is paramount, such as hospitals, schools, and high-rise structures. It is typically installed in the same manner as standard plasterboard in walls and ceilings. Fire-resistant plasterboard is frequently used in conjunction with other fire-protection materials, such as fire-resistant doors and windows, to provide maximum fire protection.
