Vapour
Vapour-permeable plasterboard is a type of plasterboard that is specifically designed to allow moisture to pass through it. It is also known as breathable plasterboard or moisture-permeable plasterboard. Vapour-permeable plasterboard, like standard plasterboard, is made of gypsum, but it has been treated with a coating or additives that allow moisture to pass through while still providing a solid, stable surface.
Vapour-permeable plasterboard is frequently used in the construction of buildings where moisture and humidity are an issue, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and other wet areas. It is typically installed in the same manner as standard plasterboard in walls and ceilings. To provide a healthy, moisture-controlled environment, vapour-permeable plasterboard is frequently used in conjunction with other moisture-management materials such as ventilation systems and dehumidifiers.
